Why should anyone ever have to cater for other peoples’ ignorance, idiocy or incendiary nature?

If people think you’re being racist when you’re not, that’s their fault

if they get offended by it, that’s their problem.

Ignoring race is something that makes me angry. There are black people. There are asian people. There are white people. Mentioning the colour of someone’s skin is not racist, and if you think it is, you’re an idiot.

There are people in this world with real problems that are actually causing hardship, so can we please not spend any more time umming and ahhing over someone who called a black person black because jesus christ it’s the most boring fucking thing in the world and if it’s genuinely causing you concern you seriously need to recalibrate your sense of what’s important.

‘stop scrolling and take a minute to read this’ is usually reserved for posts about people who are in mortal danger or are suffering great injustice. If you use it every time you’re shitting a brick about your favourite TV show, it will quickly stop meaning ‘hey here’s something that’s really important’ and will quickly start meaning ‘hey I’m about to moan self-importantly about something that you probably don’t care about and even if you do care about it I’m still going to be talking about it in a really over-dramatic way’ It’s desensitising people to a useful phrase through misuse and that’s really annoying. PS: I don’t know or care who David Yates is, and if you think I want to engage in a discussion with you about whether or not he should stick to Harry Potter, whatever the fuck that means, you are sadly mistaken.

I recorded an album of music a few months ago called Explorers 6

It’s called that because there are 5 other Explorers releases that I made already called Explorers 1, Explorers 2, Explorers 3, Explorers 4 and Explorers 5

I released it on a record, which just today started arriving at peoples’ houses

Everyone’s very excited, because I’m really really proud of how the record looks and sounds

Vondell’s excited because he did all the artwork, and he’s also understandably proud

I’m also proud of him, and glad we made this beautiful object together.

There is a website called Bandcamp, which is sort of like a cross between mypace and iTunes but better than both

I really like using it to share all my music with you guys, and all of my albums are streaming for free on there

Nobody did that, instead taking the opportunity to ask questions, some of which were literally just ‘how are you’

I was mildly bothered by this

I was then informed that I should have been grateful because this was just people being interested in me/respecting my opinion on things

What this person seems to miss is that they’re not interested in me enough to actually comply when I ask them to add me on a messaging network

or respect my opinion enough to think about what I’m asking for before ignoring that

So instead of replying to them with this, I replied with the exact thing that happened to me in the hope that they’d understand why it bothered me
